What a great way to bridge the universe than with a good comedy to share a laugh. My son, husband and I are all movie buffs, especially comedies. We would often use movie quotes in our conversations, although I would never get them quite right and that would make it even funnier. There are certain scenes from some movies that make me laugh each and every time I see them. This is one of my favorites. I hope it gives you a good chuckle.
I saw an interesting sign the other day. It said “Save Us From Going Out of Business Sale”. I thought that was an interesting sign and quite a good way to let the public know that a little help is needed by that business. If I had a physical space, I too would hang this sign. I have invested a lot of time and money into Bridging the Universe in the hopes of selling cards. I haven’t been able to reach the number of people that I had hoped, therefore, card sales are quite low. I have tried having marketers and that didn’t work. I have tried to get my cards into retail stores and didn’t have much success with that. I have lowered my prices to the bare minimum I could sell them and still make a small profit. No luck. So this is my last ditch effort. I am announcing my “Save Us From Going Out of Business Sale” today. If you don’t need any of the cards or books I have to offer, I ask that you send this link on to others who might. I am not afraid to ask for help. HELP!!!!! Please go to www.bridgingtheuniverse.com and see what I have to offer.
Thanks so very very much!
Have a splendid day!!
Cathy
Oh my! Where does the time go? I thought it was just a few days ago that I last posted on this blog and was shocked to find I hadn’t since April 11! Well, I have been quite busy. I have been doing readings of my book “Faces Who Are We” to children and I am so enjoying that. I finished my international children’s book and sent it off to my wonderful friend, Michelle Eggan, who is illustrating the book. I am working very hard on my book which contains a collection of greeting card stories from people whose lives where touched by cards, a chapter on what to say to people in a card, suggestions as to when to send a card and finally, there will be lovely lovely art by some of my dear friends in a chapter of the book called “Remembering”. This part of the book will contain all the dates of the year and on those dates, the reader is encouraged to write down important events such as births, deaths, wedding anniversaries, cancer free anniversaries, sobriety anniversaries, etc. These dates are important to remember so that we can send cards and personal messages to people that are important to us. I can’t wait until I can send it off to publishers. I have two publishers in mind already. So that is why it has been ages since I have blogged. It is not too late to share card stories with me to include in the book. Send to story@bridgingtheuniverse.com.
Be your best. Be yourself. What wonderful words of encouragement! These simple words could be written on a note card and sent to somebody in many situations. Take time today to send a card.
I am planning a road trip to Pittsburgh from Minneapolis in June. Along the way I am setting up book signing events for my book “Faces Who Are We?” at which I will help Friends of the Library groups raise money. I will post my schedule and I hope that if you live near one of the events, that you stop over. If you are interested in me doing an event at your library, please contact me via my website.
What does it take to cheer up somebody? Sometimes a phone call just isn’t appropriate. The person might not feel like talking. Emailing seems so impersonal. Hmmm, maybe a card is the BEST way to cheer somebody up! They received a personalized hand addressed envelope so they know that it is something special from a caring person. They can open that envelope when they feel like it. It is all on their terms. Once they open the envelope and read the note or card, they get the wonderful message that will hopefully life their spirits. The card is something they can look at over and over again to continue the positive impact a card is meant to be.
Today I am sending out 2 birthday cards and one thinking of you card to make 3 people happy. How about you?
I know that there are other people like me out there. You lurk in the shadows of greeting card racks. You hide the mass quantities of cards you have stored from your family and friends. You ARE a chronic card sender. I have decided to form a club, The Chronic Card Senders. If you would like to become a member, please email me at story@bridgingtheuniverse.com. I will then send you a quarterly newsletter, ecoupons for discounts on Bridging the Universe products and other fun stuff. I hope to hear from lots of people!!! So come on out and become a part of The Chronic Card Senders.
“Faces Who Are We?” came about completely by accident. One day I was working on some pediatric cards. The artwork that I was using was created by talented artist, Michelle Eggan, who I had met at an art show. I loved her art and I knew that children would love her art too, so we decided to work on a line of pediatric cards. I was working on the cards one day when I looked at all the artwork before me and decided that there was a story there amongst those cute adorable faces. So I gathered up the art and went to the computer and wrote about them. I emailed my “story” to Michelle and she liked the idea and sent it on to Dreamland Books, Inc. and the rest is history. I invite you to check out Michelle’s website, www.heartatplay.com and see her wonderful creations. Also check out Dreamland Books at www.Dreamlandbooksinc.com and see their wonderful catalog of children’s books.
I have had so many thoughtful people help me with Bridging the Universe and I have appreciate all of their time, effort, and kindness. Without them I would never have been able to bring my dream of owning a greeting card company to fruition. Now with the relaunch of the updated website and the addition of my new book “Faces Who Are We?”, I am hoping to attract attention to the mission of Bridging the Universe which is is to help to make the world a more compassionate, loving and peaceful place by bridging people with our cards and products that help recognize, encourage, inspire and heal. So if you are in the market for some nice supportive and different cards, please purchase from a small company that could certainly use some support.
“A small group of thoughtful people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead
